Investigation into Taupo death ongoing

1 min read

Police investigating the death of Fai Deane in Taupo on 30 January are continuing to make steady progress with their inquiries.

Detective Senior Sergeant Matt Cranshaw of Taupo Area CIB, says a number of people have been interviewed as part of the investigation, which also includes inquiries into Ms Deane’s medical background and the actions of a driver who crashed into a power pole in the area prior to her death.

“This is a detailed investigation with a number of complex aspects that need to be examined and resolved before we can make a determination as to the exact circumstances of Fai’s death.

“Until those inquiries are completed, we won’t be in a position to determine what, if any, further Police action may follow. However, the community can be assured that we are making good progress on our investigation into Fai’s death and are continuing to work hard to find answers as to how and why it occurred.”
