Investigators committed to resolving Upper Hutt homicide

1 min read

Police's investigation into the homicide of Lois Tolley is ongoing, with a large team of investigators working hard to resolve the case and bring the offenders to justice.

Detective Senior Sergeant Glenn Barnett says the scene examination has been completed and a number of persons of interest have been spoken to.

"In the course of our investigation, we have made three arrests on unrelated matters, and those individuals are now before the courts."

"The investigation team has also been examining CCTV footage captured in the area of Ms Tolley's Ward Street address."

"We're aware that there may be CCTV or other footage that we have not yet gained access to - either from properties in the area, or from vehicles - and we would ask that people who may have relevant footage get in touch with us."

Police are also still seeking the knife and firearm believed to have been used in the attack on Ms Tolley, and continue to seek information on the four men seen heading for Ms Tolley's Ward Street address shortly before midnight on Friday, 9 December.

They are described as in their 20s, wearing dark, hooded clothing. Investigators are appealing to those men to come forward and explain their actions on the night.

In addition, Police have identified other persons of interest who will be spoken to in due course.

Witnesses spoken to by Police have provided good information.

"As I've said previously, we do believe the people who committed this violent attack were known to Ms Tolley, and someone out there will know who is responsible."

"For the sake of Lois' family, I would ask again that anyone with information that may assist the investigation get in touch with Hutt Valley Police.

Information can also be provided anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
