Missing Waipu woman found

Police have found the Waipu woman who went missing from her home last night.

The woman left her property about 7.40pm.
Her family became concerned for her safety and started searching for her, then contacted Police.

Police Search and Rescue staff began searching and then managed to contact the missing woman through her cell phone. They kept intermittent contact with the woman throughout the night.

After being unable to locate the woman, Police called off the search in the early hours of this morning.
They resumed the search about 8.30am and shortly before 11.30 the woman was found in small clearing by a helicopter.

She is safe and well and has been re-united with her family.
