Attribute to Detective Sergeant John McCarthy
The investigation into the incident at a private function on Moteo Marae Road continues.
Police were called to the address at around 10pm after a fight broke out and a number of shots were reportedly fired.
A 20-year-old girl was taken to Hawke’s Bay Hospital with stab wounds in a critical condition.
She is now in a serious but stable condition.
Two men were also taken to hospital following the incident.
Police are speaking to witnesses and have completed a scene examination.
Those involved are believed to be known to each other and Police are following positive lines of enquiry.
