Motor vehicle crash in Lorneville, Invercargill

Police and emergency services are in attendance at a serious crash on North Road, Lorneville, Invercargill which occurred at about 12.10am on Friday 8th April.

The crash involved a vehicle travelling at high speed colliding with another vehicle, resulting in both vehicles bursting into flames.  All occupants of the vehicles manged to get out safely but several have been taken to hospital.  Their injuries are not believed to be serious.

A lamppost  was struck in the crash and lighting in the area is likely to be affected while contractors carry out repairs.

Delays for road users are likely while the crash scene is cleared.

A Serious Crash Investigation will be completed into the cause of the crash.
