Motorcyclist's name released

Police have released the name of the motorcyclist who died when he crashed on the Napier-Taupo Rd on Saturday.

He was Cameron Pirie, 19, of Wellington.

Mr Pirie was travelling with a group of two other motorcyclists when he crashed through an Armco roadside barrier near the Te Haroto Summit cafe on SH5.  No other vehicles were involved and police have made an appeal for any witnesses to the crash that happened around 3.30pm on Saturday afternoon.
