Operation Venice update - Tuesday 5 August

1 min read

Police investigating the death of Connor Morris have continued today to speak with a number of people who were at sunday morning's incident.

The scene examination on Don Buck Road is ongoing and a specialist Police search group have been back at Don Buck Road for much of the day, carrying out a further search of two large bush areas, as well as a stream running behind a block of houses there. Police are still uncertain as to the weapon that was used in the incident, however a number of items of interest have been located and these are being forensically examined. No further comment on what these items are will be made at this point.

An area canvass that included door to door enquiries with the homes in the surrounding area has now been completed, however Police would still like to hear from anyone who does not live there but was in the area on saturday night.

"The team are working incredibly hard to identify the offender. We appreciate there is a huge amount of public interest in the investigation, however this is an enquiry that requires attention to detail to piece together the circumstances from a large number of witness accounts and evidence taken from the scene. " says Detective Inspector Greg Cramer.

Anyone with information that could help Police is still encouraged to ring the Crimestoppers number anonymously on 0800 555 111.
