Police need the public’s help to find the man who carried out an armed robbery of the Koki Dairy on Linwood Avenue at 8:30 on Tuesday night.

These new CCTV images give a better picture of the offender who entered the Christchurch dairy with his face covered and threatened staff with a firearm while demanding money and cigarettes.

Police believe him to be Maori or Polynesian and wearing:

-Kathmandu puffer jacket with a hood

-Baseball cap, possibly faded in a denim colour

-Dark blue bandana

-Distinctive sweatpants with a logo running the length of his left thigh that reads ‘Broadway Dance Center’

-Grey/slate coloured lace-up boots

The offender threw a black plastic rubbish bag at the lone female shop assistant and demanded she fill it with cash and tobacco.

The victim handed over approximately $500 cash and a few packets of cigarettes and tobacco.

The offender then fled on foot and Police believe he may have run around the corner and got into a waiting car in Damien Place.

If anyone has any information in regards to this matter please contact Constable Tony Hickland at Christchurch Police on 03 972 5847.

Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
