The deceased male found in Wellington Harbour has been identified as Finbarr CLABBY of Wellington
He was a 39 year old male of Irish descent who had been living in Wellington for the last 7-8 years.
Police report that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of Mr Clabby and the matter has been referred to the coroner
“This appears to have been an unfortunate accident after Mr Clabby had been out socialising with friends on Saturday night” said Sergeant Shaun Lingard. “Mr Clabby’s family have been advised of the incident and have been offered our sincerest condolences”.
A post-mortem will be carried out on Tuesday morning.
