Hamilton Police are seeking the public's help in locating a man wanted for breaches of release conditions and the theft of two cars, who they warn should not be approached.

Detective Sergeant Will Loughrin of the Hamilton CIB said a warrant to arrest has been issued for 40-year-old Michael Douglas EDMONDS who also goes under the names of Herimiah NEHO, Onyx BAYLISS and Markus STRONGMAN.

"The warrant for his arrest was issued for two breaches of release conditions.  In addition we are also seeking EDMONDS in relation to the theft of two cars, one of which was used in a robbery of an East Hamilton TAB last month."

Described as a male Maori of medium to solid build and 177cm tall, Police say EDMONDS is possibly armed and should not be approached.

"EDMONDS is known to have contacts throughout Northland and the Waikato. If you see him we urge you not to approach him but to ring 111.

"For those people who may know of his whereabouts we would ask you contact Detective Constable Anthony Hodgson of the Hamilton CIB on 07 858 6200. Alternatively, for those who can't speak to Police directly, information can be left anonymously with the independent Crimestoppers on 0800 555111."
