Police seeking information on aggravated burglary in Hastings

1 min read

Attributable to Detective Sergeant Darren Pritchard:

Hawke’s Bay Police are appealing for the public’s help following an aggravated burglary at a Hastings address this evening.

At about 8.15pm tonight, an elderly female and her daughter were confronted in their Outram Road, Akina home by two young males.

These young offenders were disguised and in possession of weapons. The pair demanded money, before a struggle followed.

They left the address on foot, leaving both women shocked and upset, but with no physical injuries.

This was a random and very nasty attack on this family. I am asking the community to help us identify the two responsible.

The local neighbourhood can also assist us by checking their properties in this area for any discarded clothing, and also a handbag taken during this frightening event.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Hawke’s Bay Police on (06) 831 0700.
