Robbery in Foxton - offenders sought

1 min read

Just before 7.00 am this morning a dairy owner in Foxton was confronted by a man demanding money.

The owner refused to cooperate and the offender fled the shop empty-handed.

The offender got into a stolen blue hatchback car containing another man, and they drove south on State Highway One where they were seen by a Police patrol car.

The driver failed to stop for Police and a pursuit was commenced.

The driver drove over road spikes set up in Otaki and the car was later found abandoned at Otaki Beach, at the southern end of Marine Parade.

The two men were seen running from the vehicle by members of the public.

Police are still seeking these offenders and would like to hear from anyone in the area who saw anyone acting suspiciously in this location from about 7.30 am onwards this morning.

In particular we would like to speak again to a person who spoke briefly with Police at the beach.

Anyone with information can ring Police on 06 351 2535.
