1 min read

The search for two people who are missing after their fishing boat ran into trouble near Jackson Bay, has been suspended for the night.

A helicopter and crews on the ground have been searching along the rugged coastline this afternoon but cannot continue now it is dark.

Search crews will assess weather conditions in the morning before recommencing the shoreline search. There are no further plans to deploy a helicopter again at this stage.

The man who was found on the beach earlier today has been transported to Greymouth Hospital in a stable condition.

No further information is available tonight unless there is a significant update.
