Serious Crash Greytown

At 10.47pm on Thursday 7th September 2017 Police on patrol came across a traffic crash on Main Street, Greytown.

A vehicle had collided with a power pole and the sole occupant of the vehicle was trapped.

All three Emergency services attended, including Ambulance, Fire and Police.

As a result of the crash some power to houses in Greytown was cut.

The Wellington District Serious Crash Unit is in attendance to investigate the crash.

There are traffic diversions in place around to East Street, with traffic being diverted down Church Street and Papawai Road. The road is expected to be closed for several hours, whilst the power pole is secured and the investigation is complete.

The Westpac Helicopter was called to take the occupant of the vehicle to hospital.
