Police are at the scene of a serious crash on Napier Road in Terrace End, Palmerston North.
Around 4:50pm a car hit a tree and then a parked car near the intersection with Ihle Street.
Two people in the first car have been taken to Palmerston North Hospital in a critical condition.
There were people in the parked car but they were uninjured.
The Serious Crash Unit is examining the scene. Diversions around the scene are expected to be lifted shortly.
