Serious crash in Queenstown

1 min read

At about 12.40am on 6/12/15, Queenstown emergency services were called to a serious crash on Gorge Road.

A Toyota Sprinter carrying three persons failed to negotiate a right hand bend, crossed the centre line and crash into a parked van which shunted another van into a fourth vehicle. None of these other vehicles were occupied at the time of the crash.

The 17 year-old female driver from Invercargill and the front seat passenger had to be removed by emergency services. The driver has been flown to Dunedin Hospital in a serious condition. The third occupant in the back seat was uninjured.

The Serious Crash Investigator from Invercargill is attending and assisting local police with the scene.
