Update - Body found in Motueka

1 min read

Please attribute to Detective Senior Sergeant Craig Johnston:

Police have identified the person found in the Motueka estuary on Wednesday 14 February.

He was a man aged in his 50s.

Police are in the process of locating and informing the man's family members of his death, and his name will be released once that process is complete.

At this stage the man's death is not considered suspicious, although there are some aspects which are currently unexplained.

A post mortem will take place tomorrow, and we expect to be able to provide an update once we have reviewed the post mortem findings.
