The Gisborne CIB is continuing their investigation into the shooting of a 39 year old local man at a residential address in the suburb of Elgin overnight.

The victim was taken to Gisborne hospital by an ambulance crew where he remains in a serious and critical condition.

'A 42 year old Gisborne man was arrested by members of the Armed Offenders Squad at another local address shortly after the incident.  He has been charged in connection with the incident and will be appearing in the Gisborne District Court tomorrow' says Mr Scott.

The Police with the assistance of forensic scientists from ESR are currently searching three addresses and a vehicle which are believed to be connected to this incident.
