Canterbury Police can now name the victim of the fatal crash south of the Rangitata Road Bridge involving a Honda Civic and a stock truck and trailer unit on 29 March 2015. He was 39 year old Iyad Hassan Mohammad Abunahleh who lived in New Zealand but was originally from Jordan.
The death has been referred to the Coroner.
The victim was the driver and sole occupant of Civic. The driver of the stock truck was uninjured.
Investigations into the cause of the crash are continuing.
