Wanted man taken into custody in Napier

To be attributed to Inspector Dave Greig, Hawke’s Bay Area Commander: 
 
Hawke’s Bay Police have tonight taken into custody a 40-year-old man who has been sought in relation to a warrant to arrest.
 
The man was taken into custody without incident at a Marewa address at around 10.30pm.
 
Police would like to thank Napier residents for their patience and cooperation as we worked around the city this week to locate the wanted man. 
 
We understand the heavy police presence has been concerning for some residents and we are grateful for the support we have received from the public.
 
The man is likely to face a number of charges. An update will be provided at the earliest opportunity tomorrow.
