Whangarei homicide investigation - UPDATE and MEDIA OPPORTUNITY

1 min read

Whangarei Police investigating a homicide are seeking information from the public in relation to events leading up to a man suffering fatal injuries.

Around 12:30am today a man arrived at Otaika Motor Camp in Whangarei with critical injuries. He was unable to be revived and died at the scene.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding how the man came to be injured. As part of this, we are appealing to members of the public who may have seen anything in the area to come forward.

“We’d ask anyone who was in the Otaika area late yesterday evening and into the early hours of this morning to let us know if they saw anything suspicious or that may be of interest to us,” Detective Inspector Dene Begbie said.

“We are in the early stages of the investigation and would appreciate information you have, no matter how small.”
