Woman dies from injuries sustained in crash yesterday

A woman critically injured in a crash on Tauhei Road in the Waikato yesterday afternoon has died overnight from her injuries.
 
The 34-year-old woman was the driver of a car that crashed into a tree shortly before 2pm on Friday 9 February. 
 
She was trapped in the car for some time before she could be freed by emergency services.
 
She was flown to Waikato Hospital, where she died at around midnight. 
 
The woman’s husband sustained minor injuries in the crash. 
 
The Serious Crash Unit is investigating the cause of the crash.
