Celebrating 119 years of NZ Police
Staff and recruits at The Royal New Zealand Police College celebrated
the 119th NZ Police Anniversary on 1 September with a special parade.
The New Zealand Police Act, which established the police
service
we know today, was passed on 1 September 1886. Deputy Commissioner
Lyn Provost, Assistant Commissioner Jon White and other guests
joined Training Commander Superintendent Olly Beckett, TSC
staff and recruits from wings 226, 227 and 228 on parade. A piper
was
present to play the National Anthem and recruits were involved
in reading the Police Oath in English and Māori.
