New national coordinator says now
time to ‘act on thinking’
Donna Scott is the newly-appointed National Coordinator Family
Safety Teams for NZ Police.
A former NZ Police detective specialising in child abuse investigation,
Donna has witnessed first-hand the impact violence has on families,
especially children, and is eager to turn strategy into action.
"Some really good thinking has been done around the development
of the Family Safety Teams and now it is time to act on that thinking," says
Donna.
"Having worked for both police and CYF in the area of sexual abuse
investigation I am wholeheartedly committed to the multi-disciplinary
approach of the initiative. I’m looking forward to working
with the teams and other police staff to help keep families safe
by improving systems and bridging information gaps."
Donna is based at the Police National Headquarters and will be working
closely with other police staff working in family violence.
