Lower North Island

Police ask drivers to take care when driving in the lower North Island especially around the Wellington, Kapiti Coast, Wairarapa and over the Rimutuka Hill.
We have reports of severe wind gusts of up to 140kmh on The Rimutaka Hill.
Police are asking that motorcyclists and drivers of high-sided vehicles, those towing caravans and those driving trucks to take extra care or even look at delaying there trip due to the wind.
