Operation Edgewater - Hiren Mohini Homicide

On Sunday, 31 January 2010, Auckland taxi driver Hiren Mohini went to work but never made it home to his family. The 39 year-old was brutally killed in a frenzied knife attack during an eight minute journey with a passenger between Sky City in Federal St and View Road, Mt Eden shortly after 1am.

Police investigating his murder recovered a distinctive blood stained bag and have released footage of a man they'd like to speak with. Investigators have been given information about about who the man is and have a warrant for his arrest, but he is yet to be located as he is understood to be overseas.

If anyone recognises the man and thinks they know where he is, they should call 0800 444 014 or email edgewater@police.govt.nz.
