Driver Licensing

Photo driver licences and other new measures introduced by the Land Transport Act 1998 and Driver Licensing Rules 1999 represent the most significant reform of New Zealand's driver licensing system since its introduction. These changes will work together to make New Zealand's roads and drivers safer.
