Jacqueline Aberdein Profile
Police Communicator - Central Comms

Jacqueline Aberdein loves her job as a communicator in the Central Communications Centre in Wellington because ultimately it’s all about helping people.
"I enjoy interacting with the public and helping them with the issues they’re faced with in their everyday life," Jacqueline says. "I also like knowing people are being taken care of, and that I am part of this by getting the police there as soon as possible."
After working in HR and management and then taking time off to have children, Jacqueline joined Comms because it was an opportunity to get a job with Police, which she’d heard was a great organisation to work for. And it was a chance to give something back to the community by helping people.
For Jacqueline it was a wise move. "The working environment is great - there are really social, really nice people working here," she says. "We laugh and we give each other a lot of support and feed back."
