Knowing what’s going to be on the evening news before everyone else is a bonus of the job for Police Communicator Kendall Sherwin, although she loves never knowing what’s going to happen each day.
Kendall got into the job straight from school after having only part-time job experience - the most recent looking after penguins at Kelly Tarlton’s. But it doesn’t phase her one bit when dealing with 111 and general calls to police.
"I deal with everything from stolen cars to domestic violence, and nothing surprises me anymore," she says. Kendall likes to get any work stress out through sports - especially on the netball court with her colleagues, and her next career goal is to become a police officer.
