Police in Huntly are investigating an alleged aggravated robbery at the McGinty’s Bar, Main Street on Saturday 2nd September.

At about 9:00pm, the victim was closing up for the night. As she was closing the roller door at the front entrance, two persons have confronted her with the first person directing her back into the bar at knifepoint. The victim was instructed to deactivate the alarm and was lead to the office to open the safe.

The two persons then took her to the store room and demanded her keys before going back to the office and returning to lock the victim in the store room.

The two persons have exited the bar and left in the victim’s car where it was later found dumped on Ralph Road. The car had been set alight which caused significant damage.

The first person was described as:

  • Male
  • Athletic build
  • Believed to have spoken with a Pacific Island accent
  • May have been wearing a white mask across his face

The second person was described as:

  • Slighter build
  • Could potentially be a female or younger teen
