Police in Auckland are investigating an alleged aggravated robbery at the Newmarket Tenpin Bowling Centre, York Street on Monday 4th September.

At about 11:20am, two males have entered the Bowling Centre where they have walked around the premises for a period of time.

While the first male has kept an eye on the door, the second male has approached the duty manager at the front counter and has requested to get some cash out.

The male has then walked behind the duty manager and presented a firearm at waist height and has demanded cash from the till. The duty manager has withdrawn cash and placed it in the bag before the two males have decamped and run west along Khyber Pass Road towards Suiter Street where they were last seen.

The first male was described as:

  • Caucasian
  • Slim build
  • Handlebar moustache
  • Dark cap with logo on front
  • Wearing thin paper overalls
  • Wearing grey Nike sneakers
  • Carrying a black satchel bag and cut down firearm

The second male was described as:

  • Caucasian
  • Slim build
  • Wearing a navy or black baseball cap with gold logo on front
  • Wearing distinctive red, black and white sneakers
