Police in Wellington are investigating an alleged home invasion in Wellington during the early hours of Sunday 26th February.

The victim was woken in her Adams Terrace home by a male lying next to her who was using his hand to cover her mouth. The male said that he needed a place to sleep, the victim then tried to scream.

The male has punched the victim three times in the face causing injuries to her nose and lip.

The victim managed to escape and lock herself in an adjacent room. The male has then fled the house.

The victim has helped compile an identikit picture which she rates as a good likeness. The male’s hair was straighter than that depicted in the identikit.

The male was described as:

  • Male
  • Approx. 27 years
  • Solid build
  • Approx. 180cm / 5’10”
  • Short, straight, dark hair
  • Wearing a plain, thick gold chain
  • Was wearing a dark hooded top
