Police in Hamilton are investigating an alleged home invasion and assault in the suburb of Dinsdale on Tuesday 28 February.

At about 2:45pm, the victim was woken by an unknown male standing over her as she lay on the couch. The male punched the victim twice in the face before leaving the house with the victim’s handbag.

The male was described as:

  • Māori
  • Chubby build
  • Aged in his 20’s
  • He had a Celtic cross tattooed on the right side of his neck. It was described as being silver or grey or possibly newly inked, giving it a shine.

He was wearing a grey t-shirt.

The Police sketch has been rated by the victim as an 8/10 with the only differences being that the male had scruffier hair and his skin was a lot darker than in the sketch.

If you recognise this male or the tattoo described, please contact Hamilton Police.
