Police in Tokoroa are investigating an alleged aggravated robbery at the Kelso Street Superette in Tokoroa, on Friday 15th September.

At about 7:28pm, two males entered the superette where the first male has immediately presented a firearm at the first victim. He has then walked around the back of the counter towards the second victim, pointed the gun at the back of his head and demanded cash from the till.

The gunman has then instructed the second male to come around with his bag to put the cash in and has repeated this with the first victim at the other till. They have finally loaded their bag with a quantity of cigarettes and walked out of the superette on to Kelso Street where they have been seen crossing the road towards an alley way that leads to Marr Place.

The first male was described as:

  • Māori or Pacific Islander
  • In his late teens or early 20’s
  • Wearing a black jersey over the top of a black hoodie.
  • Wearing black gloves, pants and converse style shoes.
  • A blue bandana across his face.
  • Carrying a pistol.

The second male was described as:

  • Māori or Pacific Islander
  • In his late teens or early 20’s
  • Wearing a distinct NBA hooded jersey with ‘Boston Celtics’ written in white on the front.
  • Wearing blue gloves and black and white Nike shoes.
  • Carrying a blue adidas backpack.
