Police in Tauranga are investigating an alleged aggravated robbery on Fraser Street on Tuesday 2nd May.

At about 7:50pm, two males have entered United Video, one armed with a machete, and demanded money from the victim.

The victim loaded cash into a carry bag while the second male followed her behind the counter and demanded she hand over money from her purse.

The males have then allegedly stolen the victim’s gold Samsung Note 5 phone, which was kept in a black leather case.

 

The first male is described as:

  • Approx. 163cm - 170cm / 5’4” - 5’6”
  • Stocky build – victim describes him as wearing multiple layers of clothing
  • Wearing a light coloured grey hooded top, sunglasses and dark jeans.

He was carrying a Machete with a blade approx. 20”, brown handle and rust on the blade.

The second male is described as:

  • Slighter build
  • Wearing a distinctive blue puffer jacket, hunting style camouflage trousers and dark trainers with a light sole.
