Long-serving staff member farewelled
Four former NZ Police Liaison Officers who had worked in the New Zealand
Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand made a special visit to farewell long-serving
staff member Ms Lavalee Bunnag who retired in March this year.
Lavalee first worked in the Embassy in 1978 and has been the Personal
Assistant to nine Police Liaison Officers and four Customs Liaison Officers.
Former Assistant Commissioners Brion Duncan and Allan Galbraith, Inspector
Kevin Kalff and Detective Inspector Ross Pinkham made the (private) trip
to her farewell.
Lavalee’s formal farewell and retirement function – to celebrate
her 28 years working for the Liaison Office – included many current
and former staff from the NZ Embassy in Bangkok, other Police Liaison
Office administrative staff from many other embassies in Bangkok, and
senior Royal Thai Police staff.
The farewell function was hosted by the current Liaison Officers Detective
Inspector Mike Bush (NZ Police) and Doug Alo (Customs).
“The glowing remarks during the speeches were a testament to her
value, experience and institutional knowledge which she brought to the
office,” says Detective Inspector Ross Pinkham (NZ Police Liasion
Officer 1998-2003). |
