SRBA design finalised
The final design of the Stab Resistant Body Armour (SRBA) has been signed
off.
Production of the remaining components will start in mid-November enabling
roll-out to staff early in the New Year.
Assistant Commissioner Peter Marshall (Crime and Operations), says he
is pleased with the end result.
“While the design has taken longer to complete than originally
estimated, the final product incorporates input from frontline staff
trialling the armour and, ultimately, we have a high quality, comfortable
and eye-appealing product.”
SRBA offers increased protection against edged weapons including knives
and improvised spike weapons, syringes, weapons inflicting blunt trauma
such as bats and batons, and low calibre bullets from handguns. |
