‘No shortage of staff ... to go above and beyond’

I'd like to use this opportunity to reinforce how incredibly proud I am of the men and women in NZ Police.

Whether it’s an award for bravery, best practice, or personal and professional development, there’s no shortage of staff prepared to go above and beyond.

On any given day, whether on duty or not, the quick and selfless actions of police staff can be the difference between life and death, community safety or tragedy.

Equally, the accolades achieved by association with professional policing bodies contributes to the knowledge pool which helps us achieve our crime and crash reduction results.

The following stories provide a snapshot of those staff who have been publicly recognised for their efforts.

For every one of these stories there are countless other staff who are achieving in their own way in the course of day-to-day policing.

I would also like to wish all readers of the Community Edition of Ten-One a very merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year.
