Asian community encouraged to report

Following the sentencing of Wan Yee Chow, Auckland City CIB Supervisor, Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Benefield, encouraged the Asian community to report crimes to Police and not be intimidated.

“That’s the message I’d like to get across to the Asian community ... don’t be afraid, don’t be intimidated, we are here and we take these types of crime seriously.”

Mark reinforced the progress being made with the Asian community by way of Police Asian Liaison Officers and the work of the Asian Crime Unit.
