Recruiting with an ethnic perspective
A series of three recruitment seminars especially for Asian people
is being held in Auckland later this month...
The seminars are one of the four major 'icon' events the Auckland
recruiting team is using to attract more women and ethnically diverse
applicants to Police.
Auckland-based Recruiting Officer, Constable Marty Felton says the
seminars will be held on three consecutive Wednesday nights, starting on
31 August.
"There will be one in each district – North Shore/Waitakere, Auckland,
and Counties/Manukau. They will be information sharing nights, where
potential applicants can find out more about policing from an Asian perspective.
Asian
liaison officers and constables will describe the recruiting process
and be on hand to share their advice and knowledge," says Marty.
Marty says people wanting to attend should register with the 0800 NEWCOPS
call centre to book a seat.
All events start at 7pm on the following dates/locations:
• 31 August: Fickling Centre, 546 Mt Albert Rd, Three Kings,
Auckland.
• 7 September: Picton Centre, 120 Picton St, Howick, Auckland.
• 14 September: ASB Bank Netball Centre, 44 Northcote Road,
Northcote, Auckland.
