Fleet sports white ribbonsGreymouth Family Violence Coordinator, Sergeant Andrew Lynch, is not only encouraging staff to wear their white ribbons, vehicles in his district will also reinforce the message. Every vehicle in the Tasman fleet will sport a white ribbon sticker on its rear quarter light window this year as part of the district’s support for the day. “We have a good level of support for the day in the district and this is just a subtle way of increasing awareness,” Andrew says. “The stickers will be distributed to some of our partner agencies who will put them on their fleet vehicles. We are also planning on asking local shop keepers if we can put them in shop windows.” This is the first year the stickers have been used and Andrew’s hopeful the sticker campaign will become an annual part of White Ribbon Day in the district.
