Precision on show to public

Scores of people made the most of possibly the best day of summer to attend the Open Day at the Royal New Zealand Police College on 23 February.

Described as a “magnificent day”, the sun shone brightly and the temperature soared. Conservative estimates indicate around 7000 people took the chance to see and be entertained by the stalls and displays from many different areas of policing.

“The day was a testament to the wonderful enthusiasm and commitment by the many parts of this organisation that is the Police family,” says Superintendent Mike Wilson, National Manager: Training.

“I congratulate Paul Mears and the organising committee as well as all the others who volunteered to work on the day.

“I have received excellent feedback from members of the Police Executive and the public – the day was a huge success.”

Mike also extended his congratulations to Kamaya Yates and staff of the Police Museum for organising a very successful International Police Museums’ conference, and for their contribution to the Open Day.

“Streams of visitors through the Museum for the entire day helped ensure the continued preservation of NZ Police history in action,” Mike says.
