1 min read

Counties Manukau Police have launched an enquiry into the suspicious disappearance of Trevor Wayne Henderson, a 50-year-old Onewhero man.

Detective Inspector Steve Rutherford said Wayne, as he is known to his family, has been reported missing since 31st August 2003 and after lengthy enquiries police have upgraded the investigation into his mysterious disappearance.

&#34His family and friends, particularly his mother say it is totally out of character for Wayne to be missing for such a long period of time without contacting anyone.&#34

The missing man is described as a Caucasian with a shaven head, goatee beard and moustache, he is 185cm tall with blue eyes and has numerous tattoos on his body. He wears distinctive silver hoop earrings in both ears and a beaded necklace.

Before Wayne went missing he was wearing a &#34moon&#34 boot which is a removable cast that supported an ankle he suffered earlier this year. His bank account has not been touched and his vehicle remains at his Onewhero address.

Detective Inspector Steve Rutherford said Wayne could be described as a &#34colourful&#34 character who dabbled in drugs and was known to police.

&#34Nevertheless Wayne has a family and a mother who are very worried about him and who want some questions answered. He has also missed an important health appointment and his daughters 21st birthday which was last weekend.&#34

The 20 officer enquiry team have set up a special hotline for the operation which is 0800 WESTIE (0800 937 843).

Anyone with information about Wayne’s mysterious disappearance can contact this number in confidence.
