Man facing firearms charges after incident in Milford

1 min read

A man is in custody facing charges under the Arms Act, after an incident in the suburb of Milford this morning.

Police were alerted to a man sitting on a grass verge opposite a building site holding a rifle. It’s alleged he was pointing it in the direction of the site, at about 8:30 this morning.

Police believe this was after an argument with contractors on the building site.

A shot could not be fired from the rifle, as it had no bolt.

Eagle responded and cordons were put in place by North Shore police staff who had been armed.

The man was arrested without incident
