Police Cellular Contract to Telecom

Police have awarded a three-year contract for all voice and data cellular communications to Telecom.

The contract was awarded to Telecom, Police’s existing cellular service provider, following a competitive tender process. There was one other tenderer.

Police National Manager Infrastructure Business Unit Rohan Mendis says the Telecom bid provided the best overall service package. The contract has a three-year "right of renewal" at the end of the initial period. The commercially competitive nature of the contract meant it was not appropriate to disclose price or service conditions, Mr Mendis says
