Cleaning products investigated after incident at school

Relieving cleaners using new products may have been the cause of an incident which left 21 pupils and teachers from Parkview School, Christchurch, checked out at hospital today.

Detective Senior Sergeant Grant Wormald says that it appears the usual cleaners were not on the job over the weekend and different products were used by the relievers.

"We’ve spoken to the school authorities and are satisfied that there was nothing intentional about causing the reaction. There will be no need for any further inquiries," he says.
