Senior Appointments in Eastern District

Two recent Senior appointments have been made in the Eastern District – one in Hastings and the other based at the District Headquarters in Napier.

Inspector Dean Clifford replaced Inspector (now Superintendent) Tony McLeod as Hastings Area Commander. Tony was recently promoted to a position at the Office of the Commissioner in Wellington.

Dean is a Hawkes Bay local and is based at the Hastings Police Station. His area includes Hastings City, Havelock North, Clive, Flaxmere and Central Hawkes Bay.

Mr Bede Fahey has been appointed to a District role as Policing Development Manager. Bede has both a Police and Military background and will focus on developing partnerships with a crime/crash reduction along with enhanced community safety.
