1 min read

The North Shore/Waitakere/Rodney Serious Crash Unit attended a fatal crash on the Southern Motorway last night at 10pm.

A taxi driver died at the scene after his car went into the back of a truck that was slowing down for traffic at an area of road works near the Ellerslie turn off.

The motorway was closed for three and a half hours with a detour in place.

The release of the driver's name will be made once all next of kin have been advised.
