Police at Wanganui have released the name of the elderly woman who was discovered deceased at her Marton home on the 5th January 2005.
She was Mona Catherine MORRISS aged 83 yrs, of Marton.
A homicide enquiry has been launched and at this stage 25 staff including specialists have been deployed to assist in the investigation.
Detectives and ESR staff are presently conducting a scene examination of Mrs MORRISS’ home and the surrounding area. Full details as to what occurred will not be available until that examination has been completed.
Staff are also conducting an area canvass going door-to-door and speaking with neighbours.
