Two arrested in Royal visit

1 min read

Two women have been arrested after a bare breasted protest during Prince Charles' visit to Wellington's Civic Centre today.

The women, both in their 20s, were arrested for disorderly behaviour in unrelated incidents and will be bailed this afternoon to appear in the Wellington District Court on Friday, 11 March.

Superintendent Rob Pope, Wellington Police District Commander, and national commander of the police security operation, says the arrests happened as Prince Charles was about to go into the City Gallery.

"Officers dealt quickly with the incidents and security was not compromised," he says.
